Mexico World Motorcycle Challenge 2002

Mexico was off to a bad start with most of the riders getting a stomach bug and the shits from the evening meal at the hotel in Durango (Mexico). The following day I fell off on the mountain roads with heat exhaustion and dehydration. This was probably because the water in Mexico was not good to drink so I was a fool not drinking as I should have. As we went on our travels around Mexico we encountered good roads on main routes and the mountain escarpments are fantastic. The large towns and city's are sometimes stuck in the past with cars like the Volkswagen Beetles still being used as police cars. In the UK this would be a collectors item, the border from Mexico to the USA took a long time to get through as there was five times the amount of people to one vehicle as there would be here. Perhaps this was a sign of things to come. Nick did say that India was worse than this so we took our turn and queued  to get back in to the USA.
