The 350 cc Royal Enfield is the bike we are riding, these do 200 to 280 miles per tank (10 litres) of fuel at a top speed of 55 - 65 mph, I thought this was a nice bike it make's a change to getting of the Honda Blackbird that pulls your arms out of your socket's, not like the Bullet, after riding the Enfield on the test track at the factory I found this needed to go on the open road to get the best out of it, so at last the following day we did just that, but it wasn't the open road it was pot hole's, so that's what the Indian people call it "An Open Road" they where bad.

We left on our journey from Chennai to Bangalore on the way we encountered a lorry smash this is normal so I've been told, as the lorry's buses run so close when they pass its not unusual to be within 3 or 4 inches that's the margin of error the end result could be a head on smash, they employ young boys as look outs in the passenger seat to watch the nearside of the road when they overtake to tell th e driver its clear to come back in to there side of the road, the overtaking of vehicles of this size can take up to half a mile sometimes longer, this depends on the state of the road. |
